Nomad Digital delivers additional bandwidth capacity to enable enhanced application performance

UK; 17th Nov 2009: Once again, Nomad Digital has set the benchmark for train to shore data transmission. The world's premier provider of data communications solutions to moving vehicles can now aggregate bandwidth from multiple radios to provide even faster connections. UK-based Nomad already leads the world with its innovative switching solution which allows vehicles to move seamlessly between wireless networks such as different 3G providers and mobile WiMAX. Now Nomad has successful integrated bandwidth aggregation into its solution which will utilise as many communication connections as are available on the vehicle simultaneously. This may include multiple HSDPA/HSUPA, EVDO, CDMA, WIMAX, WIFI, Tetra or any other radio solution that can be used in a point to multi-point scenario. An aggregated data link makes more bandwidth available for applications, such as CCTV, multi-media, passenger WIFI or any combination of services where a larger network capacity is required than can be provided from any single network. Both the Nomad R3500 and R3200 routers are available with aggregation capabilities. The solution will be deployed initially with up to eight 3G cellular channels on passenger trains in the United States.
