Infrastructure

Nomad products and solutions are network agnostic and have the ability to utilise the most appropriate for the geography and application requirements. Our routers are modular and enable addition of radio cards to reflect local requirements. Where possible we will utilise public networks typically 3G and increasingly our router aggregation capabilities will enable delivery of the appropriate bandwidth and required quality of service. Where public networks are not available or able to deliver the required bandwidth then Nomad deploys its own networks (typically pre Wimax / Wimax) which we design, build and manage. Typically, we only deploy private networks in the rail environment as "gap infill" to public networks.

Nomad's Network Build service incorporates the following
  • Radio Surveying
  • Network Design
  • Approvals
  • Build management (with 3rd parties typically used for the install)
  • Acceptance
  • Networking monitoring and support
Improved Voice Calls
An additional benefit of our Wimax deployment is this ability to enhance voice services in areas where 2G service availability is poor or non-existent. Nomad's solution uses in-carriage cellular picocells to provide the cellular signal and then backhauls all voice traffic from these picocells over the same dedicated trackside Wimax network. In order for the picocells to be able to broadcast, Nomad will partner with a third party MNO with access to cellular spectrum.
